My name is Wendy Baier and I am from a small town in Connecticut where I grew up with my parents, two sisters and a dog. In May 2012, I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors of Science in Nutritional Sciences and a minor in Business Administration. In June I completed my dietetic internship through the University of Maryland Dietetic Internship Program in order to pursue a career as a Registered Dietitian. I love food and everything that goes along with it, from recipes to the media, to trying new products to just celebrating with friends and family. In addition to food, I love to dance and did so at UConn with an international dance team Alima as well as the Ballroom Dance team. I also love volleyball, hiking, kayaking, and arts and crafts.
Inspired by the information technology focus of my internship, I wanted to get more involved! Food blogging is actually one of the things that got me interested in nutrition in the first place. I started reading Carrots n’ Cake religiously my sophomore year and it inspired me to take my first introductory nutrition class which then led to a major, a degree and an internship, so it feels fitting that I should end up writing a blog of my own.
This past July I passed my CDR exam and am now officially a Registered Dietitian, a nutrition expert.
